When a digital marketer suggests that you take time to post to your blog, you may think this is a big waste of time and wonder “what’s the point??”. Coming up with new and fresh blog content can be time consuming and let’s face it, stressful as it’s just another thing that keeps getting pushed down the to-do list.

A Blog? What's the Point?

Why blog? THIS is why.

  • Increase SEO ranking as an authority in your industry.
  • Engage with your customers by reposting the blog post to your social media platforms – this builds trust with your brand.

Blogging and SEO are like PB&J – neither is quite as good without the other. If you’re pursuing SEO but not blogging by posting new and fresh content to your site, you’re missing a huge opportunity to expand your SEO work. And, and if you’re blogging without investing in SEO, you’re not getting the value out of your blog that you should be.

Not all blogs are created equal. Search engines care a lot about what you’re blogging about as they rank it based what people are searching for. Having meaningful blog content is a way to build SEO authority as search engines would rather serve up a site that’s full of relevant and useful info for the people who are searching. As a consumer, would you value a site full of helpful information or one with little to none?

Here’s our advice on how to get started and how to build a blogging strategy. When writers block kicks in – stop and think about what questions you get asked the most? What problems do you solve for customers? What advice do you offer the most about your industry? What makes your business unique? Provide information and solutions to people who may visit your site.
